Magnificent Antique Gebrüder Heubach Painted Bisque Figurine

This is an exceptional, authentic late-19th-century German bisque porcelain figural group meticulously crafted by the renowned premier factory, Gebrüder Heubach.

Measuring approximately 11 inches tall by 8.5 inches wide, this substantial sculpture captures a beloved Victorian pastoral narrative of a young child in a ruffled dress offering a treat to an eager, large St. Bernard dog.

The lower back of the textured base features the textbook, deeply incised block-font registry number enclosed in a clean, recessed rectangular box—the definitive identifier used by the Heubach factory.

True to Heubach's world-famous mastery of character modeling, both the child and the dog feature incredibly detailed, lifelike eyes. The soulful, sideways glance of the St. Bernard and the soft, focused expression of the girl showcase the master-level artisan painting that sets Heubach pieces apart from standard Victorian bisque.

Displays beautifully with vivid, original matte pastel overglaze washes on the dress and highly detailed, realistic fur tones on the dog. Please note there is an old, historic break located where the dog's tail wraps forward around its hind leg. This has been resecured in the past using a traditional amber-tinted adhesive/resin. The bond is completely stable and solid.

Minor historic paint rubbing/loss on the fine details of the child's dress and light age-related dust in the deeper recesses of the rockwork base.
