Bidirectional control, also known as "actuation testing," allows mechanics to activate or test mechanical components as needed. This process reveals whether individual actuators, valves, and pumps are functioning correctly, enabling more efficient and effective repairs.

The MUCAR VO7 OBD2 scanner diagnostic tool offers comprehensive 28 maintenance reset services for LIFETIME FREE.

1. Oil Lamp Reset Service

Allows you to reset the engine oil life system after an oil change.

2. Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Reset

This is essential for maintaining the safety and efficiency of the electronic braking system.

3. Battery Service

Allows the scan tool to assess the battery charge level, monitor short circuits, register battery replacements, and activate the vehicle's sleep mode.

4. Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Reset

Specifically for diesel particulate filter systems with DPF regeneration, DPF component replacement teach-in, and DPF teach-in after engine control unit (ECU) replacement.

5. Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) Reset

Helps clear faulty steering angle sensor memory and plays a crucial role in steering angle sensor calibration.

6. Restarting the TPMS Tire Pressure Monitoring System

This is useful when displaying sensor IDs from the vehicle's control unit, entering replacement TPMS sensor IDs, and testing sensors.

7. IMMO Matching

To prevent the car from being used with counterfeit keys, the IMMO matching function allows the car's anti-theft control system to identify and authorize the remote key, enabling the car to be opened and used normally. IMMO matching is required if the vehicle changes the ignition key, ignition switch, instrument cluster, engine control unit (ECU), body control module (BCM), or remote key battery.

8. ABS Bleeding

Bleed the ABS brakes to ensure a firm brake pad after repairing the ABS pump system.

9. Sunroof Reset

The sunroof needs to be reset if the sunroof control unit is experiencing communication problems or has been replaced.

10. Suspension Reset

Try resetting the electronic suspension air suspension using the massage system. Close all doors. Flip through the news system menu and go to Suspension Reset or On/Off.

11. Transmission Reset

Procedure: Reset the Transmission Adaptive Learning (TCU) DIY. Start the car and drive. Once you have performed this procedure, the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and Transmission Control Unit (TCU) will work together to learn how you drive by monitoring your driving behavior. After following this TCU/ECU programming method, drive the car.

12. AFS Headlight Reset

AFS stands for Adaptive Front Lighting System (used at night with bi-xenon headlights). It swivels to both sides. Pressing this button sets the headlights to point straight ahead and prevents them from swiveling when you turn the steering wheel.

13. Injector Coding

Leaking injectors and some dead injectors can go undetected even if an injector is out of service. Other problems with the ignition system and mechanical components may also not show a loss of RPM when an injector is out of service.

14. Throttle Body Adaptation

The throttle body is a tube with a pivoting butterfly valve that controls the amount of air entering the engine. In a car with electronic fuel injection, a throttle position sensor and an airflow sensor communicate with the computer, which delivers the appropriate amount of fuel to the injectors. The throttle position sensor's position must be relearned after clearing or repairing it.

15. Transmission Learning

The scan tool monitors specific camshaft position sensor signals to determine if all conditions are met to proceed with the engine running procedure.

16. EGR Restart

Reduces nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust and improves fuel economy under partial load.

17. A/F Restart

This function is used to set or learn parameters for the air/fuel ratio.

18. AdBlue Reset (Diesel Engine Exhaust Filter)

After replacing or refilling the diesel exhaust treatment fluid (automotive urea), a urea reset is required.

19. Airbag Reset

This function resets the airbag data to clear the airbag collision fault indicator.

20. Coolant Bleeding

Use this function to activate the electronic water pump before bleeding the cooling system.

21. AT Learning

This function can complete the transmission's self-learning process to improve shift quality. If the transmission is disassembled or repaired (after a partial disconnection of the vehicle battery), this can lead to shift delays or jerking. In this case, this function must be performed so that the transmission can automatically compensate according to driving conditions for smoother and more comfortable shifting.

22. Language Change

This function is used to change the system language of the vehicle's central control panel.

23. NOx Sensor Reset

The NOx sensor is a sensor that detects the nitrogen oxide (NOx) content in the engine exhaust. If the NOx fault is reinitialized and the NOx catalyst is replaced, the catalyst learning value stored in the engine ECU must be reset.

24. ODO Restart

a) An ODO reset involves copying, writing, or rewriting the mileage value to the odometer chip using a diagnostic computer and a data cable, so that the odometer displays the correct mileage.

b) If the mileage is incorrect due to a damaged speed sensor or an odometer failure, it is usually necessary to reset the ODO after maintenance.

25. Stop/Start Reset

This function is used to enable or disable the automatic start/stop function by adjusting the hidden setting in the ECU (provided the vehicle has a hidden function and the hardware supports it).

26. Seat Calibration

This function is used to calibrate replaced and repaired seats with memory function.

27. Transport Mode

To reduce power consumption, the following functions can be deactivated, including limiting the vehicle speed, preventing the door unlocking system from waking up, and disabling the remote key, etc. To return the vehicle to its normal operating state, Transport Mode must be deactivated.

28. Window Calibration

This function is designed to perform door window calibration, restore the ECU's initial memory, and re-establish the automatic up/down function of the electric windows.
