Antique Sterling Silver Scenic Repoussé Patch/Trinket Box Gilt Interior 

Beautiful antique sterling silver patch or trinket box of shaped form, featuring finely detailed repoussé scenic decoration to both the lid and base.

The top depicts a pastoral winter scene with a woman and animal in a wooded landscape, surrounded by flowing Art Nouveau-style scrollwork. The underside features a classical figure with horses beside the sea in high relief.

The interior retains a gilt wash finish. Elegant scalloped outline with a compact size ideal for use as a patch box, pill box, trinket box or collector’s cabinet piece. 

The marks are present but difficult to read clearly in the photographs and appear to include continental silver marks (the hallmark resembles marks found on silver from European countries like Germany, the Netherlands, or Scandinavia).

Condition:
Good antique condition with age-related wear and surface marks consistent with use and age. Some minor tarnish/patina and light rubbing to the high points of the decoration. Hinges work well and the lid closes securely. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
It will need a good cleaning.
