Masayoshi Takanaka — RAINBOW GOBLINS STORY Live at Budokan 1981 (Japan Limited 3LP Colored Vinyl)

PRE-ORDER NEW

📅 Release Date: September 30, 2026

The legendary "RAINBOW GOBLINS STORY" concert, staged by Japanese guitar hero Masayoshi Takanaka at Nippon Budokan on March 10 and 11, 1981, is released as an official audio album for the very first time — here as a limited first pressing on three 180g colored vinyl LPs. The show was built around his classic concept album The Rainbow Goblins, inspired by Italian painter Ul de Rico's picture book of the same name: the first half recreated the album on stage under a giant rainbow neon arch and a state-of-the-art laser show, with seven musicians dressed in the colors of the goblins, while the second half ran through Takanaka's biggest hits. The three vinyl colors — Clear Lime Yellow, Clear Red and Clear Blue — echo the rainbow YAMAHA SG Takanaka played that night.

⭐ Limited first pressing — 3 x 180g colored vinyl (Clear Lime Yellow / Clear Red / Clear Blue).
Japanese pressing with a photo-packed booklet from the two Budokan nights. Mastering and vinyl cutting by Alex Wharton (Abbey Road Studios, London).
