Pokémon TCG — Hoppip 112/165 | Expedition Base Set (2002) | Non-Holo

From Expedition Base Set, the first of the three e-Card expansions and one of the last English sets Wizards of the Coast produced before the Pokémon licence passed to Nintendo. Toshinao Aoki's illustration is one of the more unusual in the set — Hoppip resting on a broad leaf, the whole composition flattened into soft greens with the sunlight falling across it, closer to a photograph of foliage than to conventional character art. The card carries e-Reader dot codes along both the lower and left-hand edges, the double-strip layout unique to the short-lived e-Card format. Sleep Powder gives a status condition off a single Grass Energy, generous for a 40 HP Common of the period.

Condition — Near Mint

From a personal childhood collection, pulled from packs and stored away since. Sharp corners with no fraying, clean edges with almost no whitening front or back, and a flat, unmarked surface with no creases, dents or print lines. Centring is good. Kept in a penny sleeve and rigid toploader.
