For sale here is this 1960s Reynolds 531 racing green bike frame built by Frank Lipscombe who was an East London frame builder who had a shop in Markhouse Road, Walthamstow.
I believe it was built in 1968 based on the frame number.
The frame is in lovely condition overall with some minor scuffs but no dents or cracks. It has gold outlined Nervex lugs, beautiful wrapover seat stays and includes headset and a campagnolo centaur square taper bottom bracket. I can include a derailleur hanger as well if required.
Key measurements are
Top tube ctc 56cm
Seat tube ctt 55.5cm
Head tube length 12.5cm
Rear dropouts 12cm
Wheel size - 27" or you could run 700c wheels with a decent brake drop. I never tried it with anything other than 27s so not sure of precise drop.
Ive included a pic of the bike built up with 27" wheels and 27x1 1/4 tyres to give an idea of clearances.
Ive owned it for about 15 years but haven't ridden it for ages so time to pass it on.
I don't currently have a frame box so it is collection only from North london - Harringay N8. I will however try and get a suitable box so I can offer shipping.
