Antique Romanian Folk Costume Cross Stitch Embroidery Roosters Linen Peasant Dress
This antique Romanian folk costume cross stitch embroidery roosters linen peasant dress dates from the late 19th century. It is made of a white finely woven linen fabric, with red, blue, yellow cross stitch hand embroidery needlework with a traditional Romanian decorative geometric designs, roosters atop houses, flowers and a Romanian point crochet lace colorful woven trim hemline. This pretty peasant dress has a long loose fitting style, with pleated gathering around the off shoulder neckline, long full sleeves gathered at the wrists with embroidered fitted cuffs button closures, an adjustable drawstring waist with a long floor length skirt and is unlined. The dress is a large size, measuring 60 inches long, with a 48 inch chest, 30-50 inch adjustable waist, 50 inch hips, 16 inch back and 22 inch long sleeves. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of traditional Romanian embroidery wearable folk art!
