Feedback: Usually, I leave feedback right away when someone pays for an item. It is proper etiquette for a buyer to leave feedback upon receiving the item. Unfortunately, there are a lot of lazy buyers out there. Across all of my accounts, I’m easily 6,000 more feedback left for others than received.
Personally, I don’t like people sending in low-ball offers thinking they are doing me a favor. Basically, if I list a cap for $9.99 and it sells for that, I pay on average $2.14 in eBay seller fees. I charge $2.00 for standard shipping in a Penny Sleeve, a Top Loader (.27 each), a Team Bag, a regular small envelope, and cut to size paper stiffener cut from brand new (bought just for this purpose) file folders to help prevent damage through the mail. I also ship using non-machinable postage, which is currently $1.27 each. And on top of that, eBay takes 13.25% in fees of the shipping fees from everyone that sells on eBay… So I am clearly not making a profit from my shipping charges. Most of my problem children who send in ridiculous low-ball offers have never sold an item on eBay and know nothing about eBay fees. The “Or Best Offer” is an eBay thing, not my thing. It appears from eBay’s standard system. I basically do not want offers sent in.
Here is the one thing that low-ballers seem to miss. These items do not magically appear in my hands for free. I actually bought these items at one time and paid to have them shipped to me. Then when you offer something stupid like $3 thinking you are slick. I would most likely lose about $2 minimum. Often when I sell a cap for $9.99, I clear $2-3 at most. So what do I do about low-ballers? I usually just block them, so I don’t have to deal with them. This is not about making a bunch of money. This is about thinning out 65,000 plus caps I have lying around. So basically, if you can’t afford to pay the basic minimum bid on an item, don’t waste my time…
