Spectrum Composite Restorative Kit by Dentsply is a universal microhybrid composite designed for the restoration of both anterior and posterior teeth. It is formulated as a sub-micron hybrid composite, containing particles of varying sizes to achieve optimal strength and aesthetics.

Directions for use

Shade selection should be made prior to the restorative procedure while the teeth are hydrated.

Cavity preparation

Clean the tooth surface with a fluoride-free prophylaxis paste. Prepare the cavity (unless not necessary, e.g. cervical lesion). Use adequate isolation such as a rubber dam. Do not desiccate the tooth structure. Place matrix and wedge for Class II restorations.

Pulp protection & adhesive application

Apply pulp protection, tooth conditioning/dentin pre-treatment, and adhesive. Once surfaces are properly treated, keep them uncontaminated and proceed immediately to material placement.

Application

Apply material in increments immediately after applying the adhesive. Designed to be cured in increments up to 3mm depth/thickness. Protect material on the mixing pad from light.

Light curing

Light cure each area with a suitable curing light with minimum output of 500 mW/cm². Refer to your curing light manufacturer's IFU for compatibility. Cure each layer for the time specified for its shade.

Finishing and polishing

Contour with finishing burs or diamonds. Use Enhance finishing devices for additional finishing. Check surface is smooth and defect-free before polishing. For high luster, use ceram.x gloss, Enhance and PoGo instruments with Prisma Gloss Regular and Extrafine polishing paste.

Safety, warnings & precautions

Contains methacrylates

May irritate skin, eyes and oral mucosa, and may cause allergic contact dermatitis in susceptible persons.

Avoid eye & skin contact

Rinse eyes with plenty of water and seek medical attention if contact occurs. Remove material from skin with cotton and alcohol, then wash with soap and water.

Isolate from fluids

Contact with saliva, blood or sulcus fluid during application may cause restoration failure. Use adequate isolation such as a rubber dam.

Avoid eugenol / peroxide products

Do not use eugenol- or hydrogen peroxide-containing materials alongside this product, as they may interfere with hardening.

Single-use syringes

Syringes cannot be reprocessed. Handle offside the dental unit with clean/disinfected gloves and discard if contaminated.

Protective measures

Use glasses and rubber dam for the dental team and patient in accordance with local best practice.

Storage conditions

Handle with care: Inadequate storage may shorten shelf life and lead to product malfunction. Store at 2°C–28°C (35°F–82°F), keep out of direct sunlight, protect from moisture, do not freeze, store in a dry environment (<80% relative humidity), and do not use after the expiration date. If refrigerated, allow material to reach room temperature before use.
