Original 1939 Canadian Royal Visit postal history cover featuring the 3¢ King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Royal Visit stamp with a very clear “ROYAL TRAIN CANADA – JUN 7 10 AM 1939” cancellation.
The envelope is from the Knights of Columbus, Brantford Council 1679, Brantford, Ontario, and is addressed to Detroit, Michigan. The Royal Train cancellation dates directly to the historic 1939 Canadian Royal Tour of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the first visit to Canada by a reigning British monarch.
A particularly attractive collectible because the Royal Train postmark, date, stamp and period organizational envelope all remain together as an original mailed cover.
