Antique German bisque Kewpie doll stands approximately 5.5 inches tall and dates from the early years of Kewpie production, approximately 1912 through the early 1920s. Based on Rose O'Neill's beloved Kewpie character, these dolls were produced in Germany and are among the most desirable examples for collectors.

The doll is made of matte-finish bisque with  hand-painted facial features, side-glancing "googly" eyes, rosy cheeks, painted hair tuft, and the  red heart decal reading "KEWPIE Germany." It retains the signature molded blue wings at the back of the shoulders and features jointed movable arms. The back carries the original "Design Patented" decal

Original German bisque Kewpies from this period were sold as toys, decorative figures, and gift items, and remain highly sought after by collectors of antique dolls, Rose O'Neill memorabilia, and early twentieth-century German bisque.

Measurements: Approximately 5.5 inches tall.

Condition: Preowned antique condition. Displays expected wear from age including light surface soiling,  scattered scuffs, and minor marks. The heart decal, back decal, molded blue wings, and impressed Germany mark remain present. Jointed arms move freely. do not hold a pose.
