SIGMA 18-300mm f3.5-6.3 DC CONTEMPORARY ZOOM LENS - CANON EF - USED CONDITION

In used condition.

Some small marks and rubs to the barrel. The top of the lens has suffered a knock, which has put a hairline fracture in the outside edge of the filter thread, and pushed the outer ring inwards slightly (image 11). The crack does not go right the way through, and the filter thread on the inside edge is not damaged. I tried to fit a filter on this to test/check, but it was fiddly, and I gave up in the end, because I did not want to damage the lens further. The damaged area is solid enough, but the slight inwards dent is making it hard to fit a filter, and I don't want to push it out too far and snap the plastic. The lens is capable of taking a filter, and fitting one would reinforce the area around the fracture, but it's just a case of fitting it on carefully and not exerting too much force to break the plastic.

The mount shows only light wear. The glass is generally good, but does have some small marks - maybe from whatever knock damaged the top part of the lens? There is small area of very faint scratching (image 6). This looks like faint coating marks, but I can just about feel it if I pass the back of a fingernail over it. There are some other small coating marks here and there including a little cluster in one area near the edge (image 7). Internally there is some mainly fine internal dust, but no haze or fungus. None of the imperfections affected image quality when the lens was tested, which was very good.

AF and MF both work normally. The zoom and manual focus rings are smooth. The diaphragm stops down correctly. The OS works normally. All buttons and switches work correctly.
