Caulk Universal Tray Adhesive is suitable for all vinyl polysiloxane (VPS) impression materials, including Aquasil, Aquasil Ultra, Aquasil Ultra Cordless, Reprosil, and Hydrosil. It is used to enhance adhesion of these materials to rigid stock metal trays (e.g. Rim-Lock), plastic trays (solid or perforated), custom acrylic trays, and double-arch trays (e.g. First Bite).

Separation of set impression material from the tray upon removal from the mouth may introduce distortion errors — the adhesive helps assure the completed impression remains firmly attached to the tray upon removal, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Directions for use

Select & trial fit tray

Select and/or prepare a suitable tray. Prior to applying Caulk Tray Adhesive, trial fit the tray for proper fit and extension.

Rinse & dry tray

After proper fit is assured, rinse and thoroughly dry the tray.

Apply thin adhesive layer

Brush a thin layer of Caulk Tray Adhesive onto tray surfaces that will be covered with impression material, and allow to air dry for at least 5 minutes, but no more than 30 minutes. Repeat application if greater than 30 minutes have elapsed.

Technique tip

Avoid placing excess adhesive onto tray surfaces — retention will not be enhanced, and may be compromised, by a thicker layer of adhesive.

Place impression material

Mix and place the desired viscosity impression material directly into the coated impression tray as per the selected impression material's directions.
