The Olympus E-500 is a classic digital SLR camera from the Four Thirds system (NOT Micro Four Thirds), designed to offer solid image quality and full manual control in a traditional DSLR body.
It features the famous Kodak 8-megapixel CCD sensor paired with Olympus’ TruePic processing, delivering natural colour reproduction and reliable performance for everyday photography.
The camera includes an optical viewfinder and a 2.5-inch rear LCD for image review and settings control. Autofocus is handled via a 3-point phase-detect system, and the E-500 offers full manual, aperture priority, and shutter priority modes, making it suitable for both beginners and more experienced photographers.
A built-in pop-up flash is included, along with Olympus’ Supersonic Wave Filter dust reduction system to help keep the sensor clean.
This setup includes an Olympus 40-150mm F3.5-4.5, which is a high-quality telephoto zoom lens designed for the Four Thirds DSLR system. Covering a 35mm equivalent focal range of 80–300mm, it offers excellent versatility for portraits, wildlife, sports, travel, and general telephoto photography.
