Atari Legacy — Issue 01 (Premiere, Q2 2026). The only magazine in the world typeset entirely on a real Atari Falcon030 in Calamus. Full-color, perfect-bound, in English — covering every machine that wore the Fuji logo, from the Atari 2600 and 8-bit XL/XE to the ST, Falcon and Jaguar. Edited by Piotr “Kroll” Mietniowski, PhD; published by LTEK Labs. Limited run of 1,000.
After six years away from print, legendary Atari figure Piotr “Kroll” Mietniowski returns with Atari Legacy — a quarterly, full-color print magazine devoted to every machine that ever wore the Fuji logo: the Atari 2600, the 8-bit XL/XE/XEGS line, the ST / STe / TT, the Falcon030, and the Atari Jaguar — on to modern reincarnations like the Atari VCS and the “+” series. This is Issue 01, the collector’s premiere edition.
This is, in all likelihood, the only magazine in the world typeset in its entirety on an Atari Falcon030 computer in the Calamus desktop-publishing program. Every page you hold was laid out on a real Atari Falcon030 — accelerated with a CT63 (68060) card and CTPCI bus, driving a Radeon graphics card at Full HD — and composed in the legendary Calamus SL C2015 “Complete Edition.” No InDesign. No QuarkXPress. The magazine about Atari was made on an Atari. The sentimental value is the point: this is editorial archaeology practiced, not just described.
Edited by a working physicist and one of the world’s most recognized authorities on Atari 16- and 32-bit computers. Editor-in-chief Piotr “Kroll” Mietniowski holds a doctorate in physics and is, by reputation across the international scene, the single most recognizable expert on Atari ST, STe, TT and Falcon hardware alive today. That blend of academic rigor and four decades of hands-on Atari knowledge runs through every review, teardown and interview in the book.
A genuinely packed debut — original reporting, hands-on hardware tests, developer interviews you won’t read anywhere else, and primary-source history.
“With great pleasure I announce that, after six years, I am returning to publishing — a brand-new paper magazine for everyone who loves Atari computers and consoles, from the first Atari 2600 to the Jaguar and beyond.”
— Piotr “Kroll” Mietniowski, PhD, Editor-in-Chief
