The set of three stylized owls represents a high level of French decorative art from the early 1970s. These sculptures are examples of the Hollywood Regency style which combined classic animal motifs with the bold aesthetics of French Modernism.

The pieces were produced using the traditional sand casting method in a professional Parisian bronze workshop Ateliers de la Main d’Or. After casting each owl underwent manual cold working where a craftsman used chisels and engraving tools to create the sharp definition of the feathers. The design features a deliberate contrast between the smooth polished brass on the faces and the deep textured pattern on the bodies.

The numbers 106 107 and 108 marked on the bases are authentic inventory codes from the original workshop catalog. In the 1970s such numbering was used by high end French ateliers like Maison Jansen or Maison Charles to identify specific models for export to luxury boutiques and interior design houses in New York and London.

This set is a documented part of that period of European design history when solid brass objects were created as heavy decorative art for upscale interiors.
