Vintage Japanese tin music box featuring colorful market scenes with figures carrying goods, animals and boats in a classic mid-century Asian decorative style. The lid is decorated with a raised metal tea kettle design.

Inside is an original Sankyo Japan mechanism. The music box has been tested and works properly when wound. The melody plays clearly and smoothly; a video demonstration is included so the sound can be heard.

This piece has attractive vintage character. The painted tin shows visible wear, small scratches and paint loss consistent with age, which adds to its authentic mid-century look. The decorative artwork remains bright and detailed.

Approximate size: about 9–10 cm wide and about 9 cm high (see ruler photo).
Weight: approximately 164 g.

A charming collectible Japanese music box that works well and displays beautifully. Please see all photos and the video for details.
