In 2013 HMCS Toronto participated in Operation Artemis in the Arabian Sea to combat terrorism. The crew set a historical record by seizing 8.5 tons of narcotics including a coalition record 100 million dollar heroin shipment. During the 375 day mission the ship traveled a distance equal to three and a half global circumnavigations.
