Up for sale is a very elegant and impressive complete 7-piece chafing entrée dish set made by Poole Silver Company in 1940's. Designed for keeping dishes warm during gatherings, this silverplated double chafing dish embodies the refinement of vintage dining traditions. This lovely set features a shiny silver finish and consists of two bowls, removable bowl divider, lid, stand and two burners. Please note that burners work with the smaller bowl only (there is not enough room for them with the taller one). It also comes with a genuine Pacific Silver Cloth zippered felt fabric anti-tarnish silver storage bag. This sturdy and very heavy rectangular shape chafing dish rests gracefully on claw-footed legs with intricate lion bust detailing having gadrooned outer rim and applied beaded blossom handles. The bowls are marked EPC (it means electroplated copper), and the entire set has a very solid silver plating on cooper. This particular model #C1003 appears to be a very rare one - I wasn't able to find another one. Poole Silver Company was an American silver manufacturing company, active in Taunton, Massachusetts between 1892 and 1971. They specialized in manufacturing of silver products made with electroplating techniques. From 1946 the company began to produce sterling silver flatware, holloware, and cutlery. In 1971 the company was bought by Towle Silversmiths. This beautiful set is in very good vintage condition with just some lights marks from gently use. There is one small barely noticeable dent to one of the bowls and one scuff/deep scratch mark to one of the spirit burners. Not monogrammed. It measures 17 1/2" x 11 3/4" x 8".
