A very rare original 1st press mono copy of The Tubby Hayes Quintet - Tubby's Groove released on the highly collectable Tempo label TAP 29
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl is spotlessly clean with a good lustrous sheen retained. Some faint lines & scuffs, non-feelable, nothing that remotely troubles playback. Clean labels and spindle holes - graded VG+ visually but plays closer to EX ( see notes below)
We played this to test on our Rega Naia turntable with Aphelion 2 cartridge.
An outstanding warm and clear mono sound, detailed, dense and room filling, utterly enchanting.
It plays through beautifully with some low background noise at the start of Side 1 Track 1 which settles down quickly.
The outer sleeve is solid overall with some age related wear ( see photos)
The front has creasing/ringwear/corner rubbing plus a small patch of surface removal near the spine.
The rear notes section has flipbacks intact and a small area of laminate peel near the opening.
Spine still mostly readable with creasing.
The original Emitex inner sleeve is present, however, we have decanted the record into a new poly lined inner sleeve to preserve it - you will receive both.
