Hello fellow collectors and history enthusiasts!

Up for consideration is a historically captivating collector's piece: a Vintage Order of the Eastern Star (OES) Sterling Silver & Enamel Fraternal Spoon. Produced by the renowned Canadian silversmiths at Breadner Manufacturing Co. (BMCo), this exquisite spoon is a testament to early 20th-century craftsmanship and Masonic-affiliated secret society history.

The star of this piece is undoubtedly the beautifully detailed, multicolored enamel emblem mounted on a classic pointed-oval finial. The iconic five-pointed inverted star remains vibrant, proudly displaying its symbolic ritual colors of red, blue, yellow, green, and white. If you look closely, you can see that each segment bears its respective emblematic symbol—the cup, distaff, crown and scepter, sword and veil, and sheaf. The star is elegantly framed by a crisp, textured silver wreath of ivy leaves, which balances perfectly against the sleek, polished handle and elegant teardrop bowl.

The reverse neck of the stem is clearly stamped "STERLING BMCO", confirming its rich pedigree. This is a brilliant find for both fraternal history buffs and silver spoon completionists!

Item Specifications:

Condition: This spoon is preserved in Extra Fine vintage condition. The structural integrity of the silver stem is excellent with no bends or warping. The colorful enamel work is notably intact, retaining its bright hues with no significant chipping or loss. The silver surfaces display a natural, dark, heavy tarnish and pocket oxidation—particularly surrounding the emblem mount. There is light surface micro-scratching commensurate with its 80+ years of age. I have left the patina untouched to preserve its authentic character, though it can easily be polished to a brilliant shine if you prefer!

Rest assured, your new historical treasure will be securely packaged and shipped with the utmost care to ensure it arrives at your door exactly as pictured.
