Richard Whittlestone was born in Yorkshire, and bought up on his family’s dairy farm.  He started painting aged 5, sold his first painting at 13, held his first exhibition at 14, first appeared with the Society of Wildlife Artists at 22, and turned professional at 25. Having hated art lessons at school, he left aged 16 with no desire to go to art college, instead teaching himself with the encouragement of his parents, becoming an award-winning artist who has been commissioned to produce paintings for countless companies and charities, and whose works feature in collections across the globe.
