What is the Julldent Gingival Former EPSI? The EPSI (Emergency Profile Silicone Index) is a set of 3 silicone moulds designed to modify the cervical contour of implant prosthetics and accessory components into anatomical shapes. It allows peri-implant soft tissue to attain better architecture and enables a more natural emergence profile for implant prosthesis — compatible with any implant system and any abutment.

Most gingival formers and cervical parts of implant abutments are rounded by default. While this approximates soft tissue anatomy, it does not always replicate it accurately. The Julldent Gingival Former EPSI addresses this by offering 37 different gingival shapes that match most clinical situations — without requiring any additional medium. It preserves keratinized soft tissue post-implantation and enables accurate soft tissue impressions.

Directions to Use
Phase 1 — Mould Selection

Select the mould type — anterior, premolar, or molar — based on the site being restored.

Choose the most suitable meso-distal size — typically 2–3 mm smaller than the meso-distal dimension of the tooth to be restored. Measure using a periodontal probe or calliper.
Phase 2 — Intraoral Trial & Orientation

Place the accessory intraorally to identify the facial/buccal side. Mark the centre of the facial site using a burr or indelible marker.

The trial allows identification of implant inclination and whether the implant is centralised or not.
Phase 3 — Analogue Placement & Vertical Adjustment

Attach the accessory to an implant analogue and place it in the selected site in the former, with the facial mark facing the buccal/labial of the mould.

Adjust the vertical level by moving the analogue up or down. For thick soft tissue or sub-crestal implants, move the analogue further down; vice versa for shallow cases.

Important: Ensure at least 0.5–1 mm of the accessory is above bone level before the customised composite begins, to prevent undue crestal bone loss. Immediate extraction socket cases are an exception.
Phase 4 — Surface Preparation

To secure composite to the accessory, roughen side walls with a burr. If making a temporary crown on an abutment, apply a thin coat of Vaseline instead.
Phase 5 — Composite Injection & Curing

Once everything is aligned, inject flowable composite or similar material into the mould.

For light-cured resins: cure in 2 steps with conventional light-cure units; single-step if your unit has ≥4 mm curing depth.

For dual-cure resins: inject and cure in a single step.
Phase 6 — Finishing & Inspection

After curing, trim excess resin flashes. Typically only composite polishing tips are needed — do not over-finish to avoid altering the concavo-convex emergence profile.

Inspect for voids. If present, fill with flowable resin and finish. Ensure the final contour is smooth and anatomical.
