500 Grit Ball End Polishing Brush, Deburring & Honing Tool for Valve Inner Bore, Round Tube Brush for Cylinder & Hydraulic Cylinder Polishing

Application Scenarios of 500 Grit Ball Head Polishing Brush

500 Grit (Ultra-Fine Finishing, Pre-Mirror Polishing Process)

Core Features

Extremely fine abrasive grains with barely any material removal capacity. It only refines surface texture, delivering a soft matte finish with barely visible polishing scratches.

Application Scenarios

  1. Precisely fine polishing prior to high-gloss finishing: After machining with 320 grit, use 500 grit to further refine surfaces as the final base preparation for mirror polishing.
  2. High-precision sealed inner bores: For inner walls of hydraulic sealing valves, precision cylinders and metering valves to reduce surface roughness and improve sealing performance.
  3. Pre-polishing for mirror finish on soft metals: Creates a delicate matte finished surface on small inner bores of aluminum, copper and zinc alloy workpieces (can be used as final finish if further polishing is unnecessary).
  4. Remove fine carbon deposits & brighten surfaces: Cleans tiny carbon buildup on precision engine parts and tiny fuel injector pipelines without scratching inner walls.
  5. Gentle polishing for micro bores in medical devices and semiconductors: Produces no deep scratches, meeting strict standards for cleanliness and high-precision surface appearance.

Standard Industry Processing Sequence

  • Workpieces with heavy burrs / thick carbon deposits:
    120 Grit Rough Deburring → 240 Grit Texture Equalization → 320 Grit Precision Grinding → 500 Grit Ultra-Fine Brightening
  • Precision parts with minor micro-burrs:
Directly use 320 Grit to remove micro burrs, then 500 Grit to achieve a smooth delicate matte surface
  • Quick removal of light oxidation only:
Single-step processing with 240 Grit alone

Compatible Material Supplement

Silicon carbide abrasive fits: stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum alloy, copper, cast iron, cemented carbide and standard mold steel.
  • 120 grit is ideal for high-hardness workpieces with severe surface defects.
  • 500 grit is preferred for soft metals, high-precision sealing components and decorative appearance parts.

Size Selection Guide

Cylinder Bore Specification Recommended Hone Size
Above 90mm (V8/Large-displacement Engines) 3–6mm larger than cylinder bore
60–90mm (Medium-displacement Engines) 2–4mm larger than cylinder bore
Below 60mm (Small-displacement Engines) 1–3mm larger than cylinder bore

⚠️ Never select a size that exactly matches the cylinder bore – always choose a larger size!
