This attractive, color, Japanese post card(w/ some stains on either side, and some wear and tear around its edges in the form of minor creases, and scuffs on the front's corners) of Basha Street, Yokohama, was sent on June 26, 1907, from the Imperial Japanese Post Office in Chefoo(uncommon), China, to a Miss Emily Hofmaster, New York City, USA! In my experience, considering the point of origin, and lack of a message, the sender was possibly a U.S. Navy sailor. U.S. Navy sailors of the Asiatic Fleet often made stops in Chefoo during their cruises throughout East Asia. As for the pinkish, 4-Sen, Japanese definitive overprinted for use in Imperial Japanese Post Offices in China, it is in fine-very fine condition! The English-language CDS from the Imperial Japanese Post Office in Chefoo, China, is about 65-70% complete. The mail went through what was likely Yokohama the same day that the card was mailed. Noted imperfections aside, this post card remains a neat piece of Japanese, Chinese, and American postal history!
