ANCIENT ROMAN IMPERIAL BRONZE FIBULA (BROOCH) WITH ITS ORIGINAL PIN

A large Romano-British brooch in good condition with its pin intact. Measuring an impressive 80 mm in length and weighing 25 grams, this substantial example would have served both as a practical garment fastener and a visible statement of status.

The brooch shows a light green patina and earthen deposits. Its elongated form and robust construction are characteristic of Romano-British military and civilian dress accessories. Large brooches of this type were commonly worn to secure cloaks and heavy garments.

A highly displayable and collectible artefact,  complete examples of this scale with intact pin mechanisms are increasingly difficult to obtain.
