SHIPPING: Upon receipt of payment your comic will ship, within one business day, via your choice of USPS First Class - Large Envelope Mail (In a flat photo mailer) or USPS Ground Advantage (in a Gemini mailer) As the cost difference is substantial, be sure to request an invoice, before paying, and specifying which method of shipping you want.
Please note that any grade provided is my opinion and not that of a professional grader. It's just something to get you into the ballpark so that you can begin your own investigative journey to determine if this item is right for you.
When choosing shipping:
FIrst Class will be used for single comics shipments only! Approximate cost of three dollars. It will be cheaper to ship up to three comics, via First Class, than it would be to use Ground Advantage. While flat mailers have been a very reliable medium for shipping, they can be easily damaged if the carrier does not take proper care of the item.
Ground Advantage can be used for a single comic, but can handle up eight comics, depending on thickness, and has an average cost of eight plus dollars. The Gemini mailers offer superior protection against damage. If you order more than seven comics, your shipment may require either two Gemini mailers or a larger package, which may increase the cost.
No matter which service you choose, options will be provided once you request an invoice. Important...don't pay until you receive an invoice that reflects the options you want. If you pay before this happens, you may incur additional costs and may limit the options I can offer. If the invoice I provide isn't what you want, request another invoice and let me know what it is you need. i can always send another invoice as long as you haven't paid for the items
To answer your potential question about the limit of one comic per flat mailer. It is quite simple. USPS is getting very strict about 1st Class mail and two comics exceeds their limits. Sometimes they go through, other times the buyer receives the item with postage due or it gets sent back to me due to insufficient postage. To prevent this from happening, I operate within the guidelines, as opposed to hoping for the best. Additionally, two comics will not only exceed the mailing limit, it may also cause your item to be damaged as it goes through the automated sorting equipment.. They will still deliver it to you, damage and all, just to add insult to injury.
Why don't I sent them Media Mail? Also simple. It is illegal to use Media Mail to send comics for what we can all agree are stupid reasons. This does not change the legality of it. Do some people still use Media Mail to ship comics? I'm sure they do, as it is the cheapest way to send comics. But if they get caught, it is a Federal Offense and the fines are quite steep.
