D P-2 Dosimeter — a Soviet radiation detector designed for nuclear warfare conditions, intended to operate at very high radiation levels.

The device measures gamma radiation in the range from 2 to 200 R/h and operates in temperatures from -40°C to +50°C.

The D P-2 is especially known for having one of the most powerful built-in check sources ever used in a radiation detector.

The check source emits more than 1 roentgen per hour (10 mSv/h).

This model was produced between 1958 and 1969 in Minsk, USSR.

The device features an interesting mechanical analog meter that shifts scales with each turn of the mode switch.

The item is very well preserved and comes as a full set, including the original documentation, bag and strap.

The dial backlight works, and the battery is included. When power is connected to the device, the transformer starts to hum, but nothing else happens.

Detailed photos and video are available.
