Four Gigabit PoE ports · Two Gigabit uplinks · Digital power display · DIP mode switch · 250m Extend
A visual tour of what's inside -- before we break it all down, tile by tile.
Every UKVISION switch is engineered to the same exacting standard -- thermal management, fault protection, industrial-grade components and a premium metal housing built for years of 24/7 service.
Every specification on this switch exists for one reason -- to make your CCTV or network install faster, cleaner, and more reliable.
An honest engineering breakdown of the UK-SW-4-1000-P. Everything is where it needs to be -- and nothing is where it shouldn't.
UKVISION Identity
Silkscreen brand panel -- British design, tested UK stock.
4 × PoE Ports
10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit, 30W each, IEEE 802.3af/at, auto MDI/MDIX.
2 × Uplink Ports
Non-PoE Gigabit uplinks for NVR / router connection. Ports 5–6 at 10/100/1000Mbps.
AC Power Input
100–240V universal input. Ships with UK 3-pin BS1363 cable fitted.
Metal Chassis · 11" / 1U
Compact desktop form factor. Convection cooled. Fanless. Industrial-grade housing.
A typical HD IP camera draws 6–8W. With 65W on tap across 4 PoE ports, this switch comfortably powers a full 4-camera HD install with plenty of headroom for accessories like PTZs and IR illuminators.
Whether it's your first home CCTV kit or your 200th site install this year -- this was specified for you.
Everything needed to confirm compatibility and plan your install.

Yes. The switch is fully IEEE 802.3af/at compliant, covering virtually every PoE IP camera sold in the UK -- Hikvision, HiLook, Dahua, Reolink, Swann, Uniview, Ubiquiti, Axis, Hanwha. If your camera supports standard PoE or PoE+, it will work.
No. This is a plug-and-play unmanaged switch. Connect your cameras to PoE ports 1–4 and your NVR or router to one of the two uplink ports (5–6) -- it's working in seconds. No apps, passwords or CLI.
Standard PoE (802.3af) delivers up to 15.4W per port; PoE+ (802.3at) delivers up to 30W. This switch supports both, so it runs lower-power devices and high-draw cameras like PTZs and 4K turrets with zero compatibility issues.
Yes. The switch auto-detects each connected device. Power is only delivered to PoE-enabled hardware -- non-PoE devices receive a data-only connection, exactly as on any standard network switch.
Up to 100 metres on a standard Gigabit link, at full 1000Mbps speed. Using the DIP switch to engage Extend mode, ports 1–4 are forced to 10Mbps which extends transmission distance to 250 metres -- ideal for outbuildings, gates and far perimeters without fibre.
Yes, comfortably. A typical HD IP camera draws 6–8W. With 65W across 4 PoE ports, you have clear headroom for a full 4-camera install -- even 4 full-power 4K cameras at 10W each only use 40W, leaving 25W for PTZs, IR illuminators and other accessories.
Yes. Use either of the two Gigabit uplink ports (5–6) to connect to a second switch, router or core aggregator. Each copper link supports up to 100m per run at full Gigabit speed.
Anywhere clean, dry and well-ventilated. The compact 200×133×44mm premium metal chassis sits neatly on a desk, shelf or in a cupboard. Keep 10cm of free space around it for heat dissipation.
