LOOK AT THIS SUPER OLD TOBACCO SILK!

SUPER, OLD and Authentic University of Chicago Maroons Murad Tobacco Silk! This TREMENDOUS Chicago Silk measures 3 7/16 Inches X 5 3/8 Inches !  Along the bottom of the silk it states "MURAD CIGARETTES, FACOTRY NO 7 DIST N.Y." !! This Silk Depicts a Football Player In a VERY Old Uniform!  Beside the Athlete is the University of Chicago School Seal!  The University of Chicago is located in Chicago, Illinois!

THIS SILK IS 116 YEAR OLD!

Tobacco Silks like these were passed out with tobacco products (cigarettes) in the early 1900's. Beautiful color with the School Seal, the Schools Name BLAZING Across the Top! Getting tougher and tougher to find in good condition, the one is GREAT!

At the Time this Silk/Felt was Made, The University of Chicago was a part of the Big Ten.  In 1939, however, after a decline in the program's success and a wish to maintain the University's rigorous academic standards, Chicago discontinued varsity football.  The University of Chicago Competed in the Big Ten in all sports from 1896-1939 and in several others until leaving the conference on March 8, 1946.
