CCFL tube of LCD display module requires a dc to ac converter for its FL tube to light up.  This particular converter was designed to power up the backlight of the Optrex DMF50081 LCD display from 5 V dc source but fits well for other models as well within its working parameters as follows.  It also comes with a Enable/PWM control pin 3 to enable and moderate the brightness of FL tube.  This part is handy and more affordable.

Be careful on the high-voltage output area, and please check datasheet on designing the pcb for safety reason.

PS: Tie pin 3 to Vin for full brightness without PWM control. Pin 3 must be 0V to turn off.  Low ESR by-pass capacitor on pin 1-2 may be required to reduce reflected ripple (check datasheet).
