About Ivoclar Te-Econom Flow

Te-Econom Flow is a flowable, light-curing, radiopaque hybrid composite material designed for use in various dental restorative procedures. Its flowable nature makes it easy to handle and adapt to the contours of the tooth, making it particularly suitable for filling small cavities and for situations where precise placement is required.

The light-curing property means it hardens when exposed to blue light in the range of 400–500nm, offering dental professionals precise control over the setting process — the material solidifies only when ready, allowing for meticulous adjustments before the final cure. Te-Econom Flow is also radiopaque, making it clearly visible in X-ray images, aiding in diagnosis and post-treatment evaluation. Available in shades A2 and A3, it's a versatile choice for Class I to V cavity restorations, excelling in the repair of small cavities and even in pediatric dentistry for deciduous teeth.

Directions for use
Preparation & isolation
1
Prepare the workspace
Ensure a clean, well-lit workspace and select the appropriate shade for the restoration.
2
Isolate the treatment area
Use a rubber dam or similar isolation system to prevent contamination and provide a dry field.
3
Cavity preparation
Prepare the cavity following the requirements of the adhesive technique.
4
Clean and dry
Clean the cavity with a water spray, then air dry to ensure it is free from moisture.
Placement
5
Optional pulp protection
Apply a pulp protector such as calcium hydroxide if needed, followed by a pressure-resistant cement if required.
6
Matrix and wedge placement
Position a matrix for proper tooth contour, adding an interdental wedge if necessary.
7
Etching and bonding
Apply an etchant to enamel and dentin as indicated. Rinse and dry the surfaces, avoiding overdrying the dentin. Apply a bonding agent to enamel and dentin, ensuring complete coverage, then evaporate remaining solvent and light cure the adhesive per recommendations.
8
Composite placement
Apply the flowable composite in thin layers of a maximum of 2mm, light curing each layer individually per the recommended curing times.
Finishing
9
Finish and polish
Finish the restoration using suitable instruments or fine diamonds. Check the occlusion, then polish with silicone polishers for a smooth, aesthetic finish.
10
Final assessment
Inspect the completed restoration for any adjustments or refinements.
Safety & handling guidelines
Professional use only
For use by a licensed dental professional, following the manufacturer's clinical instructions.
Curing light compatibility
Use a curing light in the 400–500nm blue light range and follow recommended exposure times.
Layer thickness limit
Apply composite in layers no thicker than 2mm, curing each layer individually for a complete set.
Avoid overdrying dentin
Rinse and dry surfaces carefully during etching and bonding, taking care not to overdry the dentin.
