Slide shoes come with carriage bolts and locking nuts. The bolts fit too loosely into the slots of the shoes so they rotate when you try to tighten them. You have to hold on to the bolt head with pliers or vise grips so you can tighten the nut. A better solution would be to buy hex head bolts of similar size and thread pattern and then install a flat washer next to the bolt head with an external tooth lock washer under it, so that the teeth of the lock washer bite into the surface of the skid shoe. On the other end of the bolt you may be able to use the lock nut provided with the shoes. Of course, since the shoes are plastic, don’t overtighten the lock nuts. The shoes are made of a type of plastic that should slide easily on your driveway.
