Class A, fully-discrete transistor circuitry
The Mic Pre 500 offers the same professional-quality Class A, fully-discrete transformer circuitry as found in the Mic Pre IV and Mic Pre One. It sounds amazing — the way you'd expect only boutique gear to sound — and since it's modular, you can always expand and add other modules to your sound chain to get the results you're looking for.
Fully-loaded front panel controls and metering
By borrowing the layout design from the Mic Pre IV, Daking ensured that everything you need is right there on the front panel. The instrument/line input is mounted on the front panel for easy access, and the buttons - input selector, phase (polarity) switch, pad, and phantom power on/off - are laid out in a logical manner. An adjustable highpass filter (10-200Hz) lets you trim low frequencies and get rid of unneeded and unwanted low frequencies like air conditioning rumble or floor vibrations as you record, while an eight-segment, tri-color LED meter helps you maintain optimal levels.
