Very easy! It typically takes 2 minutes to set up and activate the service. Simply download the Ting app from the Google Play Store or iOS App Store and it will guide you through the setup process. No tools or technical skills required.
Can I use the sensor without the Ting service?

No. Ting is a smart home service with an intelligent plug-in sensor at its core. If a fire hazard is detected, the service connects you to the Ting Fire Safety team who will lead you through every step to resolve the hazard and keep you safe.
What does Ting detect?

Ting detects micro-arcing that can spark fires and develops in faulty wiring, loose connections, and malfunctioning devices. Ting also monitors the power entering your home and detects hazards linked to utility equipment that may need repair.
How many Ting sensors do I need?

Most homes require just one Ting sensor for whole-home monitoring from a single outlet. However, if your home has more than one main electric breaker panel (each with its own utility feed), one Ting is required for each main electric breaker panel.
Does Ting record audio or video?

No. The Ting sensor does not have microphones, cameras, motion detectors, speakers or other sensors that collect information about you or your home. It focuses on analyzing your home’s electrical health.
