Nazareth was founded as an exclusive Moravian community.  Other faiths were not allowed to purchase property there. The other communities were Bethlehem, PA; Emmaus, PA, and Lititz, PA.  Until the mid-1900s, much of Nazareth's population was of German origin.  Pennsylvania residents know that  Pennsylvania Dutch comes from a variant on the word Deutsch, which in English is German.  Uncommon Pennsylvania town cancel.
