“HOW TO BECOME A VENTRILOQUIST
(Ventriloquism for Fun and Profit)
America's Premier Ventriloquist, PAUL WINCHELL, teaches the many techniques of the Art of Ventriloquism. Drawing from over fifty years of experience, Winchell offers short-cuts to: Speaking without moving your lips; Pronouncing difficult letters;
Creating a personality for your dummy; Manipulation of the ventriloquial figure; Creating new characters with costume and make up. And, of course, Throwing your voice (The Distant Voice).
INCLUDES CLASSIC FOOTAGE FROM WINCHELL'S OWN LIBRARY
In 1936, Winchell made his first public appearance on the "Major Bowes Amateur Hour" radio show. Since that time he has become one of the country's most famous ventriloquists. From vaudeville to radio, to television stardom, PAUL WINCHELL has taken ventriloquism to levels of artistry rarely equalled by other ventriloquists. Winchell was the star of several TV series assisted by his wooden friends, Jerry Mahoney, Knucklehead Smiff, Tessie Mahoney and his latest addition, Henry Goldberg. "Winch", as Paul is usually called, made guest appearances on every major TV show through the 50's and 60's, and won numerous awards for his contributions to children's programming. In fact, there is hardly a ventriloquist working today who was not influenced by PAUL WINCHELL.
In 1954, Winchell wrote his best selling book
"Ventriloquism For Fun and Profit" which is now a collector's item. This video is based on that book. By practicing its six simple lessons, almost anyone can learn, "HOW TO BECOME A VENTRILOQUIST".”
