“The original serial number 6'936'701 identifies a wristwatch in stainless steel bearing the reference 5540 and the order number 23044. It is fitted with a Longines manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 10.68N (also called 10L). It was invoiced on 21.9.1945 to the company Longines-Wittnauer Watch Co., which was at that time our agent for the USA.”
