An elegant Edo period iron tsuba featuring the classic Kasugayama sukashi openwork design.
Round iron plate (maru-gata) with carved ground openwork (niku-bori ji-sukashi).
A refined and well-balanced composition typical of Umetada workmanship.
This piece comes with an original lacquer storage box and is accompanied by a Tokubetsu Kicho (Special Precious) Certificate issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK).
A fine collectible example of Edo period sword fittings.
Condition
There are minor age-appropriate surface marks and light wear.
No major damage is observed.
Overall in very good condition for its age.
