Before a poster is printed in large quantities, the printer would first print a limited number of posters as "proof" posters. The printers would look over these proofs and make corrections as to color or cropping issues. They would next print a new proof, and sometimes a series of proofs were needed before a final "approved" version was done. Once the final proof was printed, they would then print a number of "printer's test" posters which would then be distributed to everyone connected to the project, so that they could "sign off on it". They would then print the full run of "regular" posters.

ACCORDING TO TEAM ROSTERS THIS POSTER WAS PRINTED IN 1988, THE IMAGES USED WERE FOR THE 1989 RELEASE, HOWEVER, A COUPLE OF THE PLAYERS MOVED TO OTHER TEAMS AFTER THIS POSTER WAS MADE AND THEIR IMAGES WERE NOT USED (WILLIE RANDOLPH, DAVE WINFIELD). PRINTED AS A POSTER THE SCRIBE MARKS INDICATE THAT EACH PLAYER'S PHOTO AND ARTWORK WERE TO BE CUT OUT INDIVIDUALLY. EACH ONE WOULD MEASURE CUT TO THE SCRIBE MARKS WOULD BE 7 1/2" x 8". THIS WOULD BE THE SAME SIZE AS THE PLAQUES/CARDS THE COMPANY MADE.
