Earvin "Magic" Johnson is considered to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, point guards in the history of the NBA. Selected first overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1979 draft, he played his whole career (13 seasons) with the Lakers.
Being such a great player, Magic's accomplishments are too many to list. To name a few, he was a 12-time All-Star, and a 3-time Most Valuable Player, a 9-time All-NBA First Team selection, a 3-time NBA Finals MVP, a 2-time All-Star Game MVP. Most important of all, he is a 5-time NBA Champion.
Magic also won an Olympic gold medal in 1992 as a player and captain of the United States Basketball Team, more famously known as "The Dream Team".
Johnson was named as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history in 1996, as well as being selected to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame twice, in 2002 and 2010.
