This servo is a direct replacement for Bowflex original "blue servo" part No 8004601, used in the following models of Max trainer:
  • Bowflex M5 Max Trainer

  • Bowflex M9 Max Trainer
  • Bowflex Max Total Max Trainer

Original Bowflex Max trainer servo motor units seem prone to failure after a few years usage and are expensive to replace in the UK because most retailers are sold out of Bowflex original servos meaning these have to be ordered from abroad at extra cost.

This listing is for the purchase of a new "home built" servo motor that has been designed and hand built by me in my front room workshop after months of intensive design and testing to ensure it works right and will not fail easily! Welcome to the future of manufacturing!

All plastics designed and printed in house and made from strong and robust PETG on highly calibrated printers and the gears in particular have been extensively tested to provide equivelant or superior performance to the Bowflex original units including the brass reducer gears - See photos....

Just like the Bowflex original our "cyke" servo utilises carbon fibre shafts for reliable performance with long life and because no USA or EU parts are used at all it can ship worldwide without restriction (at present). All components meet or exceed the performance of original Bowflex max trainer servo determined by extensive and sometimes destructive testing as its the only way to be sure the servo is fit for purpose!

My "CYKE" branded servo also incorporates some improvements over the original Bowflex model.

For ease of installation I made the base of it seperate with a quick release clip to ease installation. Anyone who ever had to remove or install the original Bowflex servo knows how hand numbing it can be to access all 4 screws but no longer with this design making installation and removal for service easier on the hands and heart. I also added end cap shield to protect the delicate motor wires from damage during handling whilst installing or removing. - see photos.

Now I'm into keeping hardware out of the recyling centre because its good for the environment and our pockets so if you have a failed original Bowflex servo please see my other listings for service and parts. If you simply want a spare or replacement servo then grab this and keep your Bowflex Max trainer working for a few more years yet!


Removing and reinstalling a servo in Max trainers is the same procedure regardless of whether the servo is new or refurbished. The procedure for removing & refitting servo can be found in the Max trainer M7 service manual page 118 which is available to download online if you search for it.

Please note the cable tensioner shown in the photograph is not supplied it is part of the lower cable set on the Max trainer itself.


UPDATE!

Check your Max trainers brake arm spring for wear & damage. 

Weakness and damage in the spring can cause resistance level to fluctuate which is undesirable and while stocks last i can offer a free replacement spring of identical spec upon request to all servo orders.
 So if you need a new spring to keep your Max trainer in top condition please ask for it when you check out by adding a message to seller. If you message me for a spring after purchase it is not gaurunteed that I will see the message in time. Thanks.
