This is a faithful reproduction by orSlow of the classic “1st type” denim jacket, originally produced from 1936 to 1953, featuring the iconic single chest pocket.

The jacket accurately recreates key vintage details such as front action pleats with box stitching, a left-side flap chest pocket (the flap was omitted during WWII), and a cinch back at the waist.

A standout feature is the “T-back” construction, used only on sizes L (3) and LL (4). In the past, denim woven on narrow looms required two pieces of fabric to be joined at the center for larger sizes, creating a vertical back seam known as the T-back.

Because this detail appeared only on larger sizes, it became a rare and highly desirable feature among vintage collectors. Although modern production no longer requires this method, orSlow intentionally reproduces it, limiting the T-back to larger sizes just like the originals.

The jacket is made from orSlow’s original 13.5oz selvedge denim, carefully designed to replicate vintage texture, weight, and stiffness.

This is a special version with custom paint applied over a 2-year washed finish.
