Many Radio Amateurs are exempt from using CE approved equipment. For those users we can supply these radios on the 70cm band in analogue mode. Max 12 channels.

Which Type Of Radio Is Best For You?
PMR446 Licence Free is ideal for short range communications usually up to 1KM depending on terrain. It is not a secure method of communication as it is a public band. Whist some packaging states up to 10KM range, this is almost impossible to achieve in general use.
VHF is best for use in the countryside and open spaces. Most VHF handhelds operate at up to 5 watts. Range can be 1KM to 5KM depending on terrain. Though in some circumstances the range can be substantially greater.
UHF is best for use inside buildings and built up areas. Most UHF handhelds operate up to 4 watts though some operate at 5 watts. This power difference makes little overall difference to the range. More than 90% of the radios in use in the UK are UHF. Range again can be 1KM to 5KM depending on structures. Though in some circumstances the range can be substantially greater.
Analogue “V” Digital; Analogue radios have been around for over 100 years, and most users prefer the audio on analogue. Digital radios have been around for over 20 years and can offer marginally greater range and much greater voice security. Digital radios also tend to have more enhanced functions.
UHF and VHF radios need an OFCOM licence to operate in the UK.
If you need greater range on site then you can opt for a signal booster, known as a Repeater. You will need an OFCOM licence to operate this. You will also need a duplexer and antenna.
Network Radios offer the best range of all. These operate using DATA either with a SIM or WiFi. Range on radios is pretty much unlimited. However, without a data connection they do not work at all. These radios are very secure. They do not need a licence, but they do require a subscription.

In the unlikely event that you receive a faulty item please contact us within 24 hours of receipt and we will arrange a return and exchange. Please send photos of the incorrect item or any damage.

Shipping:
Most products bought before 2pm Mon-Fri will be shipped same day. Products bought after 2pm, at the weekend & Bank holidays will be shipped the next working day.
All products outside of the UK will be handled by eBay global shipping.
There will be a delay if you require your Radio purchase to be reprogrammed.

Radioswap ltd is a VAT registered UK based company. Customers in the EU will not be charged UK VAT; they will pay local VAT at the point of import. If you have an EORI number, this may be deferred. If your item is returned from the EU due to failure to pay VAT, you will be charged for shipping to your location and return shipping to the UK. Radioswap Ltd do not and have never supplied high power radios on PMR446 or any other LPD frequencies.
Following an agreement with OFCOM Radioswap Ltd supply all high-power radios on UK General - Business Lite frequencies at a maximum power output of 5 watts. Customers are advised that a licence is required at £75 for 5 years. This covers unlimited sets. It is the operator’s responsibility to ensure they operate legally. It is the responsibility of Radioswap Ltd to ensure the equipment supplied can be operated legally.
Exceptions - Customers holding alternate valid UK PBR PMR licences may request equipment to be programmed to their licensed frequencies upon presentation of a valid OFCOM licence. Radio amateurs may request equipment to be programmed to amateur radio frequencies. Export customers may request specific frequencies. However, it is their responsibility to ensure they operate any equipment legally in their jurisdiction.
Product Images used by Radioswap Ltd are mainly original content taken by Radioswap Ltd. In some circumstances for new products, we use public domain images. Radioswap Ltd do not use copyrighted or embossed images. If a manufacturer claims breach of copyright this should be directed to Radioswap Ltd for clarity and the product will be removed until the images can be verified or replaced.
