Steve Largent was selected 117th overall out of Tulsa by the Houston Oilers in the 1976 NFL draft. The Oilers had no idea they had picked a diamond in the 4th round and released him after just 4 preseason games. The Seattle Seahawks would sign him and the rest is history, Largent would play his whole 14-season career with the Seahawks and will garner all these awards and accomplishments: NFL Man of the Year, First Team All-Pro, 4-time Second Team All-Pro, 7-time Pro Bowl selection, 2-time NFL receiving yards leader, PFWA All-Rookie Team. This wide receiver with the sure hands ended his career with more than 13,000 yards receiving, more than 800 receptions, 100 touchdowns, and a career yards-per-catch average of 16.0
In 1995, Steve Largent was inducted in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team and the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.
