This is an original Rotherham racing pigeon clock recorder, model PU-175, dated 1970 (clearly marked on the dial). These mechanical clocks were used by pigeon racing clubs to officially record the return times of racing birds and are an important part of 20th-century sporting history. Includes the original carrying case, which was used to transport and secure the clock for club race verification.
Rotherham clocks were manufactured in England and are well regarded for their heavy-duty construction, precision clockwork, and long service life. Today, they are collected for their mechanical design, industrial character, and connection to traditional pigeon racing.
Condition
The clock shows authentic age-related wear and paint loss, consistent with long-term club use. The winding knob turns freely, but the clock does not currently run and is being sold as-is for repair, restoration, or display. No key included.
