The Fender Made in Japan Godzilla Stratocaster Godzilla Black is a special model created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of both the Fender Stratocaster and the original Godzilla film from 1954. This limited edition instrument brings together the iconic silhouette of the Stratocaster with the overwhelming presence of the King of the Monsters.
Inspired by the atmosphere of the first Godzilla movie, the overall design uses a monochrome theme. An alder body topped with myrtlewood is finished in a deep Godzilla Black gloss to express the heavy, imposing presence that only Godzilla can have. This model is offered as a special specification available only at Fender Flagship Tokyo and the official online store.
The neck features a Modern C shape with 22 medium jumbo frets, providing smooth and comfortable playability. Around the twelfth fret of the rosewood fingerboard, a bold Godzilla logo inlay gives a strong visual impact every time you look down at the neck.
For sound, Fender paid careful attention to detail. Pushing the Tone 2 knob activates the built in distortion circuit. The patented pending GLO Gain Linked Optics system changes the brightness of the light according to the distortion level. As gain increases, the Godzilla dorsal fins on the special pickguard light up more intensely, recreating the moment when an enraged Godzilla is about to unleash his heat ray, delivering an effect to both your eyes and ears.
Exclusive Custom Godzilla Humbucking pickups provide overwhelming heavy tones, while the hardware is unified in black to complete a truly one of a kind instrument. A special neck plate with serial numbers starting from No.01, a certificate of authenticity, and a dedicated Godzilla hard case are also included, making this a complete collector grade package.
This is a limited production collaboration model. Wood grain and exact color tone may vary slightly from piece to piece due to the natural materials used.
Fender Made in Japan instruments are known for precise build quality and careful attention to detail, combining classic Fender designs with the craftsmanship of Japanese factories. The Stratocaster, introduced in 1954, has become one of the most famous electric guitar shapes in the world, used in rock, blues, pop, and many other styles.
Godzilla first appeared in the 1954 Japanese film and has since become a global pop culture icon. Often called the King of the Monsters, Godzilla represents both the destructive power of nature and a symbol of resilience. The Fender Made in Japan Godzilla Stratocaster Godzilla Black celebrates the shared 70 year history of these two legends with a design that captures the scale texture, power, and dramatic energy of the monster while honoring the timeless feel of the Stratocaster.
