You are bidding on 15 SHINOBUGA OKA JAPANESE MAPLE SEEEDS - Acer palmatum 'Shinobuga Oka'.

Other Names:  Shinobu Ga Oka, Shino Buga Oka Japanese Maple

An elegant variety, producing fine, light green, bamboo-like foliage with great texture . Sometimes 3 or 7 lobes to 9cm long, holds its color through spring and summer   .It has upright branching but stems and leaves weep gracefully for a wonderful effect; an ideal garden accent tree . The deeply cut ferny palmate leaves are highly ornamental and turn an outstanding luminous yellow in the fall.   

The rough gray bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape.

Edible parts of Japanese Maple: The sap contains a certain amount of sugar and can either be used as a drink, or can be concentrated into a syrup by boiling off the water. The syrup is used as a sweetener on many foods.  

Other uses of Japanese Maple: 

The leaves are packed around apples, rootcrops etc to help preserve them.
