Rare vintage radio produced in the late 1930s in Canada.
It is missing antennas but I was able to get good sound but with a hum using the Standard Broadcast band when I held the antenna lead in my hand.
Model 8D723 is stamped on the plate at the back and "Elgar" is groved into the cabinet at the back. This unit is being sold as-is.
De Forest Crosley was a Canadian radio manufacturer, with early models being identical to US-made Crosley sets built under license. The company was acquired by Rogers Majestic in 1934, which continued to produce radios under the De Forest Crosley brand name.
