Item : LED ZEPPELIN / KNEBWORTH 2nd DAY (2DVD)

Condition :  NEW

Since its inception in 1974, the outdoor Knebworth Festival in the British countryside has hosted countless artists. It's one of the world's most legendary music festivals, steeped in legends and often marking milestone concerts, comebacks, or the unveiling of new material. Artists who've performed there include Floyd, Zeppelin, the Stones, Zappa, Genesis, the Beach Boys, Purple, Clapton, and Oasis, and each performance is considered a signature piece for their respective band. This film features a complete, pro-shot recording of Zeppelin's performance at the 1979 Knebworth Festival. Led Zeppelin performed two days that year, and this film covers the second day.

At this point, Zeppelin hadn't performed for nearly two years. The sudden death of Plant's son during their 1977 American tour led to a halt to the tour, and they had been absent from the stage ever since. As for the UK, they hadn't performed there in four years, since 1975. So Peter Grant decided to first perform at Knebworth, a one-off show, before embarking on a major tour.

Because it was their first performance after such a long hiatus, thorough rehearsals for Knebworth were conducted at Bray Film Studios in London. To further enhance their preparations, two warm-up concerts were held in Copenhagen. The two-day Copenhagen concert has also been released on the Wendy label (Copenhagen Warm Ups, 4CD).

As you'd expect from a festival, Knebworth that year featured a number of artists, including New Barbarians and Todd Rundgren's Utopia, but as you can see from the poster, the main act was a comeback performance by Led Zeppelin. Both days at Knebworth are also famous for having professionally shot footage. This recording was shot for later broadcast on television, and as evidenced by the fact that Zeppelin members appeared in the same costumes on both days. However, the footage from this performance has only been used in fragments, and only a few songs have been released, with the complete recording yet to be officially released. This is the complete pro-shot version of that leak.

Since video and soundboard recordings have already been released in the past, the content will be familiar to avid fans, so there's no need to revisit it here. The image quality is currently the best possible, with natural color balance and contrast adjustments, without excessive correction. Another notable feature of this release is the audio switching function. Audio 1 is the soundboard recording. Audio 2 is the audience recording from the same day, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere of the venue as it is. And Audio 3 is a mix of the soundboard recording and the audience recording. Both can be switched during playback, so enjoy it according to your preference. This is a solid press edition with a beautiful picture disc design for permanent preservation. Includes a Japanese obi.
